Position Summary:

Under general supervision, the Mechanic repairs all equipment associated with course maintenance department. Responsibilities also include planning and implementing a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment, assisting in the training of staff in safe use and proper care and maintenance of assigned equipment, and advising the Superintendent regarding major equipment failures and/or replacement needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect equipment for operating deficiencies. Repair and adjust equipment as needed.
  • Lubricate and service all course maintenance equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain service, repair and usage records on all equipment.
  • Establish safety procedures and maintain safety records for equipment operation.
  • Assist in the demonstration to staff the use of new equipment and train in safe operation and proper care and maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Plan and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment.
  • Advise the Superintendent regarding major equipment failures and/or replacement needs.
  • Perform general overhauls of equipment as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school, college degree, preferred but not required
  • Experience with small engine and diesel engine required
  • Valid driver’s license. Driving record meeting Company safety policies and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to repair golf course equipment.
  • Demonstrated quality verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including occasional weekends.
  • Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
  • Must maintain a clean orderly work area

About Wilderness Ridge Country Club
Wilderness Ridge, a KemperSports property, is a private country club which includes an 18-hole Championship Golf Course, a 9-hole Executive Course, an upscale-casual restaurant featuring steaks and seafood, as well as private banquet spaces for events of varying sizes, all in a rustic lodge setting. A new “Pub Style” bar and grill, fitness center, and a state-of-the-art aquatics complex opened in 2022. Wilderness Ridge started in 1987 when owners began purchasing land for the golf course. In 1998, contractors began grading the golf course and officially opened in August 2001. Two years later, the clubhouse was completed and aptly named The Lodge. The Lodge carries out the "wilderness" theme with its log structure, natural stone landscaping and numerous stuffed game throughout the building.” In addition, a new stand along golf shop and teaching facility opened in 2022 and the members lounge “Timbers” opened in 2023.
