GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
RIO PINAR GOLF
OVERVIEW Rio Pinar Golf is an 18-hole Semi-private golf club with a long, rich golf history in Orlando,Florida. As a Superintendent, you are responsible for the operation of the 18-hole semiprivate golf facility including course setup and maintenance. You will work to create an environment where staff is involved and enthusiastic, with open communications and respect for themselves, members, guests and the property. Rio Pinar Golf recently went under new ownership and a number of course renovations have been done and/or are being done to improve the playability of the golf course, the golf course turf conditions and upgrade the golf course for the member and guests’ enjoyment. These activities may continue in subsequent years as Rio Pinar Golf desires to raise our standards in the Central Florida golf community.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for all phases of Golf Maintenance and Agronomic operations, cost control, and personnel • Oversee the care and maintenance of the turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees and wetlands on the facility grounds. • Work closely with, advise, and coordinate with the General Facility Manager on any issues related to golf course maintenance. • Purchase products, monitor daily records, and maintain inventory. • Inform staff of procedures and standards • Train staff on safe operation of maintenance equipment • Inspect golf course and maintenance areas daily for vandalism and environmental/safety concerns. • Conduct daily facility security checks, ensuring accurate inventory of equipment and keys. • Direct and participate in the construction and maintenance of the grounds. • Design landscape plans for facility grounds and implements the plan. • Administer and enforces all Club rules, regulations and policies for staff. • Oversee subordinates in proper and safe operation and maintenance of mechanical and power equipment. • Manage an aggressive water usage tracking plan and irrigation systems and provides monthly reporting on retaining ponds, wells and other water source usage. Work closely with the General Manager to operate the Golf Course in a fiscally responsible and professional manner. • Maintain records and complete required reporting; order parts, supplies and equipment as needed. • Schedule maintenance practices around member play and outings to maximize efficiency and minimize disruption to members. • Ability to operate light motorized equipment. • Must have a pesticide license within 90 days of employment and maintain an active license. • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE and SKILL REQUIREMENTS • 3-5 years turf grass management experience with Southeast grasses and growing environment preferred. • Supervisory, coaching and staff development experience required. • Golf Construction/Renovation experience preferred • A four-year college degree required. • GCSAA Member required. • Knowledge of budgeting and expense management • Knowledge of local, federal, and state laws and regulations affecting management of golf course operations • Must have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business. • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Must be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detail. • Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. • Must have basic computer skills, Word and Excel
