Pelham Country Club is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our dedicated team. As an Assistant Superintendent at Pelham Country Club, you will play a pivotal role in the maintenance and management of our unique property. Pelham Country Club is a private, 18-hole full-service Country Club nestled on 120 acres just minutes from New York City. Our premier property, designed by renowned course architect Devereux Emmet and opened in 1921, has a rich history, having hosted the 1923 PGA Championship. Recently, our golf course underwent an extensive renovation by the acclaimed golf course architect, Mike DeVries. This renovation and our enviromental initiatives earned us the 2021 MGA Arthur P Weber Award for Environmental Leadership in Golf, The course renovation was featured in the USGA Record Meeting Changing Needs at Pelham Country Club Club and Resort Business - A-supreme-solution At Pelham Country Club, we place a top priority on maintaining the excellence of our course and its conditioning. We continually invest in golf course projects, equipment, and technology. In 2024 the Club will run two state-of-the-art John Deere GPS control sprayers and an irrigation system control by both Rird Bird IC and Cirus systems. As an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, your responsibilities will include:

PCC continually strives to improve their facility and to that end annual capital projects are normal with the Grounds team tackling many in-house such as annual drainage improvements, tee and bunker renovations and the like. in 2024 the Club will complete a large landscape and entry way project. What to expect: Your roll will be essential to the success of the operation and to that end dedicated hard work is expected and a commitment to get the job done is required but our management style strongly considers the candidate’s quality of life. A typical summer schedule is about 60 hrs per week with every other weekend off and alternating 32 hour weeks in the off season. Educational Requirements A two or four-year college degree in Agronomy or a related field, or substantial on-the-job training with a track record of progressive responsibilities. A New York State pesticide license or the ability to obtain one within 60 days. Experience Requirements Minimum of 5 years of golf course maintainance experience with a proven track record of progressive job responsiblities. |
