The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Director of Agronomy and assists with all aspects of the agronomy team operations. The Assistant Superintendent helps plan, direct, and participate in the daily maintenance of the golf course.
***This position will be directly involved in the planning and execution of the 2026 irrigation system and bunker renovations. Grassing lines and tee leveling will also be addressed in this scope of work.***
Schedule and supervise maintenance operations in a manner that best utilizes the employees and equipment.
Interview, hire, train, and supervise grounds crew employees.
Assist with personnel management and evaluation and ensure that all employees are given precise orientation, training, and guidance.
Instruct equipment operators on the safe and proper use of all machines being used.
Assist the golf course superintendent in recognizing water, fertilizer, and other pesticide needs around the golf course.
Schedule and supervise fertilizer and pesticide calibration and applications.
Maintain accurate records pertaining to daily employee activities and tasks, pesticide applications, and fertilizer applications.
Plan and successfully execute various projects around the golf course property.
Monitor the well-being of the golf course on a daily basis.
Communicate daily with the clubhouse golf shop staff and other departments regarding golf course conditions and grounds crew operations that are taking place.
