Assistant Superintendent

We currently have an opening for an Assistant Superintendent to direct and participate in the maintenance of the entire grounds of JGCC, which includes Clubhouse, Practice facilities and 18-hole golf course property. This individual is responsible for the daily activities of the golf course maintenance staff, including supervision and training of staff to perform all the tasks associated with maintaining this golf course and grounds. The Assistant Superintendent works with the Golf Course Superintendent under the direction of the Director of Agronomy and represents JGCC in the utmost professional manner.

Skills and Duties:

• Communication with golf shop
• Fertilizer and pesticide applications
• Assist in daily course setup
• scheduling, training, follow up of staff to accomplish duties as laid out by the Superintendent and/or Director of Agronomy
• Tour the course daily with special attention to the greens
• Work with the Equipment Manager on equipment use
• Discuss daily schedules, programs and concerns with the Superintendent and/or Director of Agronomy
• Staff safety training
• Maintain pesticide license and pesticide records

Experience requirements:

Degree from agronomic institution, 2-3 years’ experience working on golf courses, knowledge of pesticides and irrigation repairs.  Acquire pesticide license within 6 months of employment

Compensation:

$50-60K plus annual performance bonus, benefits include health, dental, 401K, Uniforms, Paid time off, and GCSAA local and national dues
