We are currently hiring for a Golf Course Superintendent who will be responsible for the development and management of the golf course and/or grounds by planning, organizing, and directing the construction of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers. Represent the PGA of America in the utmost professional manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Supervise the construction and maintenance of the course, along with the existing and surrounding grounds. Supervise Assistant Superintendents in making final approvals for projects and chemical applications. Prepare appropriate reports and retain relative records. Supervise the planning and cultural practices involved in growing various turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants. Assist in supervising the efficient operation of the equipment repair shop. Procure supplies and material within the budgetary limitation. Keep all records of annual maintenance activities and costs. Prepare and present annual golf course maintenance budget. Participate in interviewing, hiring, and discharge for all employees. Prepares 90 day, periodic and annual reviews for employees and members of the management staff. Train, motivate, and efficiently direct the work of employees in a safe and efficient manner. Support other departments whenever possible through direct or indirect support or means. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Review and analyze various financial results/reports while monitoring the overall Golf Course Maintenance Operations performance and take any corrective actions that may be needed. Manage assignments according to the annual financial budget and work towards meeting these goals throughout the year submitting/utilizing proper forecasting, cost controls, labor management, reporting, and revenue generation. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. COLLABORATION AND TEAMWORK Works harmoniously with others to get a job done, responds positively to instructions and procedures and is able to work well with staff while maintaining relationships, which breed productive disagreement and debate. CUSTOMER FOCUS Meets the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Gets first hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services. Acts with the customer in mind and establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Four-year degree or two year certificate in turf grass management or related degree from a college or technical school is preferred. Five years of relevant experience working on golf course and skillful in all tasks done on a course. |
