Equipment Manager

Under supervision of the superintendent and the assistant, this person is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the entire fleet of golf course maintenance equipment. Be able to make major/minor mechanical repairs on a variety of gasoline, diesel and electric powered equipment. All equipment must be in efficient, operable condition at all times. Organize and maintain a clean service area and be meticulous in record keeping of each piece of equipment so preventative maintenance can be performed and warranty work can be completed in a timely manner.

Essential duties are as follows:

1. Maintain a preventative maintenance program on entire fleet, purchase repair parts and maintain adequate inventory to minimize down time.
2. Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in a variety of golf course equipment.
3. Performs reel adjustments, blade repair, grinding and sharpening of all cutting units for peak performance on a daily basis.
4. Be able to perform machining or welding work in making fittings used in repair of equipment.
5. Maintains accurate records of all maintenance work done on each piece of equipment. Track all expenses utilizing a spreadsheet to ensure compliance with monthly budget allocations.
6. Responsible for the major and minor repairs and preventive maintenance on electric, gasoline and diesel powered equipment, equipment implements and cutting units.
7. Diagnose and repair electrical circuits, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, pumps and other equipment systems.
8. Keep shop and parts room in a clean, organized fashion.
9. Exercise good judgement in evaluating systems, inform Superintendent or Assistant of potential problems and take corrective action when deemed necessary.
