Seasonal Intern

Myers Park is committed to providing an internship opportunity that will prepare turfgrass students for a career in golf course turf management. Students will expand upon knowledge and skills learned in the classroom and apply them in a work setting.   Professional development will be a priority and the intern candidate will be part of a team that provides an exceptional experience and first class service for its members and guests.

The intern experience will include but won't be limited to education and involvement the following areas of focus:

• Learn daily operations of golf course maintenance
• Irrigation installation, repair, and scheduling
• Cultural practices 
• Lead small group projects
• Fertilization applications/calibration
• Aerification
• Course set up
• Use of mowing equipment including triplex green's mowers, fairway units, etc. 

Myers Park Country Club is a private club established in 1921; nestled in the desirable Myers Park neighborhood just 3 miles south of Uptown Charlotte. The Club prides itself on offering excellent facilities and services.  In 2017, Golf Course Architect Richard Mandell, assisted the Club with a complete redesign of the bunkers using the Better Billy Bunker construction method. The greens were converted to TifEagle bermudagrass at this time as well as a redesign of two greens on the course, and a complete renovation of our practice range and 18th hole. In the summer of 2022, golf course architect Andrew Green, assisted the club in renovating the 1st and 10th tee complex as well as a new putting green grow in.
