Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor, NJ is excited to announce a career opportunity for a highly motivated and team oriented first Assistant Superintendent. This is an opportunity to develop strong workplace culture while working alongside the superintendent and other team leaders. The golf course is a Coore and Crenshaw designed 18 hole private golf club built in 2002 and hosted the 2015 USGA Senior Amateur. At conception the course was on list of best modern courses in the US and is annually voted as one of the best courses in New Jersey. Hidden Creek is a member of the private destination golf company, The Dormie Network. The first assistant will be immersed in every aspect of golf course maintenance and will be expected to make in-the-field decisions founded on strong agronomic knowledge. We are searching for a candidate that is looking to prove themselves as a leader and has aspirations to move up in the golf industry.

Qualified Candidates will possess the following assets: - a desire for professional improvement and growth daily -ability to communicate at a high level -an ability to set goals and lead a highly functional team to accomplish these goals -a desire to provide top level turf conditions day in and day out for member and guest play -ability to scout for turf pests and work with the superintendent to formulate plans of attack -highly experienced in hand-watering cool season turf and developing a watering plan -experience with spraying pesticide and fertilizer applications -a working knowledge of golf course architecture and how this affects agronomic decision making -a passion for the game of golf or the desire to develop this passion -maintains a positive attitude to help boost crew morale
Key Responsibilities: -organize crew of 20+ on a daily basis and assign tasks in a systematic manner -oversee in-the-field operations and make decisions on the fly -train new and existing crew members to ensure safety and efficiency -schedule, apply, and record pesticide applications -formulate hand watering plans to ensure minimal turf stress during summer months -assist in the proper upkeep of the equipment fleet -work with the superintendent to plan, schedule, and implement cultural practices
Qualifications: -Associate or Bachelors degree in turf management or related field -NJ pesticide license or ability to obtain within 90 days -2-5 years golf course experience in a leadership role -Willingness to work any day of the week including holidays -Willingness to work overtime in the summer months
