Assistant Superintendent

General Responsibilities:

• Assists in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees and fairways; schedules work and supervises the employees and the use of the equipment.
• Instructs equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment; supervises pesticide applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment; supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation systems, central computer, and drainage systems.
• Assists in personnel management (record-keeping) and evaluation, employee safety, personnel discipline/conflict resolution, seasonal employee hiring, and may also modify the daily work schedule based on professional interpretation.
• Scout golf course for disease, nutrient response and longevity, soil moisture, and course details as defined by superintendent
• Communication with related departments
• Record keeping of all pesticide and fertilizer applications and man hours
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of maintenance facility
• Teach/train seasonal staff
• Lead crew to successfully complete projects 

• Min 2-year College Agronomy Degree preferred
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and record keeping as required by local, state and federal laws

• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Require current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator. (Obtain within 90 Days)
• Proven leadership capabilities
