The Village of Glen Ellyn seeks qualified candidates for a full-time Golf Course Equipment Manager/ Technician position at the Village Links of Glen Ellyn. The Village Links is a 27 Hole Municipal Golf Course situated on 240-Acres on the south side of Glen Ellyn. We have a thriving golf course and restaurant with a strong and growing following of Men, Women, and Junior golfers. Our golf course equipment fleet has recently been upgraded to 2019 or newer on most equipment, with further upgrades in the works; the shop work area consists of 2 Equipment Lifts, new Foley Grinders, and a new Welder; and our golf cart fleet consists of 95 2022 Yamaha gas carts. The job duties of the Golf Course Equipment Manager include but are not limited to performing hands-on skilled work in the mechanical repair and maintenance of grounds equipment and golf cart fleet; performing welding and fabrication; maintaining parts and supplies inventories; and to provide responsive, courteous, and efficient service to Village residents and the general public. This position will report to the golf course superintendent.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Diagnose and perform minor and major repairs as needed in a timely manner
Daily spot checks on equipment in the field to ensure proper performance
Perform routine scheduled maintenance
Order and manage parts and supplies inventory
Maintain detailed service records to include all repairs, service, and associated parts and costs for all equipment
Maintain a clean and organized work area
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in general equipment maintenance and repair (diesel, gas, small engines) in a professional setting
High School Diploma or equivalent, supplemented by specialized training or experience in mechanical repairs or a related field
A valid State of Illinois motor vehicle operator’s license
Ability to troubleshoot issues with equipment
Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, Google Sheets)
Required to operate equipment and lift up to 50 lbs
Welding and Fabrication skills
Self starter, Team player, good attitude, willing to contribute ideas

Additional Salary Information:
The salary range for this non-exempt position is $60,758/annually ($29.21/hr) to $92,394/annually ($44.42/hr). Anticipated starting salary is +/- $76,585 ($36.82/hr) with a full range of benefits offered, as well as participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), a defined benefit retirement plan. Membership Dues for GCSAA and MAGCS, as well as CTEM Certification training. Actual starting salary is negotiable and will be dependent upon qualifications, experience, and professional achievement.
