Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Supervision, training, and scheduling of staff
• Delegation of assignments
• Project management
• Daily and tournament course preparation
• Observes daily playing conditions including mowing quality, green speeds, bunker conditions, course setup and soil moisture
• Implementation and enforcement of safety program for employees
• Equipment operation and safety training
• Chemical application record keeping
• Irrigation operation, repair, and troubleshooting
• Applying chemicals and fertilizer (when necessary)
• Spray/Fertilizer equipment calibration
• Perform other duties as needed

Education/Experience

• Turf Degree, certificate or at least 3 years’ experience as an Assistant Superintendent preferred
• Must have excellent oral and written communication kills
• Must have valid drivers license
• Florida Pesticide License or ability to obtained within 90 days
• Required to lift at least 50 lbs. and work outside in Southwest Florida weather
• Knowledge of Southern Turfgrasses
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Ability to speak Spanish a plus
