We are currently seeking a 2nd Assistant Superintendent to round out our management team. The 2nd Assistant will be assigned to either the front or back nine of the golf course and report directly to one of our three, 1st Assistant Superintendents. 

The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, intense desire to learn and positive attitude. 

The 2nd assistant will be heavily involved in all facets of turf care at a highly regarded golf club. 

Kinloch Golf Club (KGC), designed by Lester George and Vinny Giles, is located in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia and was established in 2001. KGC opened to national and regional acclaim as illustrated by its position on both the State (1) and National (66) rankings that are published by Golf Digest. 

In addition to its successful hosting of the 2011 USGA Senior Amateur Championship, KGC is preparing to host the 2024 USGA Mid-Amateur Championship. With our founder and co-designer, Vinny Giles, recognized as one of the greatest living amateur players, we intend to continue a strong relationship with the USGA and its rotation of Championships.

  • Pesticide Applicator License (3B) or the ability to become licensed within 60 days of employment 
  • 2-4 year degree/certificate in agronomy, horticulture, agriculture or soil science... Or.... 4 year degree in a non-turf field with a willingness to pursue further education in turf grass management 
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a +... Or... A strong willingness to learn the Spanish language 
  • Work ethic is extremely important 
  • Willingness to learn basic golf course maintenance tasks from the "Ground Up" 
  • Strong desire to pursue a lifelong career in Golf Course Management 
  • Flexibility with work schedule, minimal days off, etc. 
  • Genuine love for the game of golf and golf course conditions
