Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

 

As a part of the Escondido team, the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is held to a high level of excellence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes work schedules of golf course maintenance team.
  • Maintain our greens in tournament condition daily, reflective of our reputation.
  • Supervise and participate when necessary, in mowing greens, tees, fairways, and rough.
  • Perform and/or manage periodic maintenance practices such as topdressing, aeration, and vertical mowing.
  • Perform and/or manage course setup: change cups, move markers, maintain ropes and signage as needed.
  • Manage and/or maintain the details on the course: pick up tree limbs, leaves, maintain cart paths.
  • Maintain irrigation systems and learn the Toro Lynx software.  
  • Train, manage, and/or operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, chainsaws, and sod cutters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
  • Fertilize and pesticide applications using computerized sprayers, tractor-drawn fertilizer spreaders, and walking spreaders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 4 years of experience at a golf course.
  • Must have a post-secondary 2- or 4-year degree in golf course management or related field.
  • Proven ability to manage others and finish tasks efficiently.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Self-starter with the ability to follow-through and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Currently holds a pesticide applicators license for your current state.  Must obtain a Texas pesticide applicators license within 6 months.

Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with experience.
