Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Kilmarlic Golf Club located just before Wright Memorial Bridge to the Outer Banks is seeking a qualified, motivated, and hardworking individual for a lead assistant position. As an assistant you will be part of leading and directing day to day operations on the golf course, practice facilities, and clubhouse grounds.  This position will also assist in hiring, training with a focus on good team morale and team building in a positive environment.  

Position Overview:

• Develop rapport and learn the day to day operations will include managing and preparing the golf course for public and member play. 
• Boom spraying and making fertility applications with flowable and or granular products. 
• Monitoring and repairing irrigation issues along with daily water use. 
• Hand watering with an emphasis on water management. 
• Monitoring and reporting pest damage.
• Record Keeping and knowledge of budgeting, and creating agronomic plan for each week with crew goals on a weekly and monthly basis.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $50,000-$60,000 
• 2 weeks PTO

• Good time management skills, and ability to adapt to different needs. 
• Communicates effectively with all constituents including team members.

Preferred Requirements:

• 1-3 years golf course or landscape maintenance 
• Basic irrigation, chemical, fertilizing, and watering knowledge
• A certificate or degree in turfgrass management is desired, but will train the right candidate with ambition and goals to progress in the turf industry.
