| Wilshire Country Club is a 103-year-old private club with a long history of amateur and professional championship play. Currently, the club hosts the LPGA LA Open each April. The event's purse is among the highest on the LPGA Tour, annually attracting 95 or more of the top 100 LPGA players to compete in the championship. Currently the club is working with golf course architect, Kyle Phillips, to completely renovate the property. This includes greens, tees, bunkers, native areas, irrigation system, wells, and barranca work. On almost an annual basis, one of our assistants advances to a superintendent position somewhere in California or elsewhere in the country. Golf Course Superintendent, Brian Sullivan, CGCS, MG, has developed well over 100 industry professionals. We are looking for a candidate with the right attitude who desires to develop and learn-quickly. The club currently does and will support applicable continuing education and pesticide licensing. If you are the right individual then advancement will occur rapidly. The successful candidate will learn all of the tools necessary to become a successful golf course superintendent, both professionally and agronomically. Candidate will have the opportunity to attend and present at greens committee meetings as well as assist with the budgeting process. Candidate Will work directly with the GCS, other assistants, crew, golf staff, and club staff. Candidate will be involved with all aspects of our turf maintenance program including spraying, fertilizing, water management, staff management, golf course set up, and cultural practices. Wilshire Country Club is minutes away from Hollywood, Dodger Stadium, and Downtown Los Angeles. Wilshire's new $4,500,000 maintenance facility (site of the on-site housing) includes over $2,000,000 of new and state of the art equipment.
