The following express affirmative duties, obligations, and responsibilities to the Association and with full authority to exercise the same within the policies and directives from the Association’s Board of Directors:
Manage entire golf course maintenance operation.
Maintain golf course grounds.
Manage maintenance of all golf course equipment.
Maintain course in championship playing condition.
Supervise all planting, fertilizing and care of turf, plants, shrubs, trees and other facilities of golf course.
Record all maintenance on course.
Develop and maintain drainage, irrigation and watering systems.
Supervise, train, evaluate and schedule all staff assigned to the Department.
Provide necessary input for all required personnel records.
Supervise operation of all personnel in equipment repair.
Implement and enforce comprehensive safety programs for employees and members on golf course compliance with local, state and federal laws.
Insure all chemicals are properly labeled according to OSHA & EPA standards/requirements.
Perform the above duties in compliance within the annual budget adopted, and as may be amended, for the Department. Solicit cost proposals and supervise the construction of any Capital Improvement authorized by the Board of Directors.
Develop plans & specifications, including cost estimates, for all recommended capital improvements to the golf course.
Recommend employees to be hired/terminated
Bachelor's degree in agronomy, plant science, or horticulture plus two (2) years of turf management which must have been in a supervisory or lead worker capacity, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have current (and maintain) Florida Turf and Ornamental Pesticide License and Florida GI-BMP License.
Knowledge of the use of turf and landscaping equipment including tractors, mowers, aerifier, chain saw, edger, weed trimmers, electric motors, pumps, sprinklers and irrigation systems; motor vehicle, phone; copy and fax machine; personal computer, including word processing and database software; mobile or portable radio.
Considerable knowledge in methods, equipment and materials used in maintaining a golf course; good knowledge of general repair and maintenance procedures; good knowledge of practices and principles of effective supervision; considerable knowledge of mixing and administering chemicals used in treating turf; considerable knowledge of automatic irrigation systems.
Considerable skill in planning and assigning work to subordinates; skill in keeping records and budgetary matters.
Ability, when necessary, to perform work requiring a moderate amount of physical stamina outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Full understanding and skill in operating equipment used in the maintenance of golf course grounds; ability to deal effectively with supervisor, subordinates, and the general public; ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and electronically.

We have a staff of twenty, full and part time employees, in adminstrative, maintenance, golf course maintenance and pro shop departments.
