Assistant Superintendent will directly schedule, manage, and motivate seasonal staff. Responsibilities will also include daily scheduling of tasks, applications of fertilizers and pesticides, irrigation programming and repair, moisture management, and record keeping. Opportunities for project management will also be given. Assistants each have two days off per week allowing for a good work life balance, even in the heat of summer.
Walnut Creek is a 27 hole private club which just finished a 9 hole renovation. Another 9 hole renovation begins August 2023. After August 2023 all 27 holes will have new 2 wire RainBird IC irrigation. Currently 18 holes are IC, the remaining 9 being completed during the 2023 renovation.
Walnut Creek Country Club offers a great experience including management of both annual bluegrass and bentgrass greens, tees, and fairways. In addition, there are four different methods of greens construction represented including soil push up, modified California, sand based, and USGA. Candidates for this position will be exposed to all activities in the organization. Ideal candidates will be self motivated, honest, trustworthy, and have a positive attitude. Assistant Superintendent will attend Greens Committee meetings for experience with member relations and club politics.
Two or four year degree in golf/sports turf management or similar field.

Additional Salary Information: 45-55K/year. Paid tournament volunteering, uniforms, golf, health, dental, vision, 401K after 1 year, paid vacation according to company policy, meals while working.
