Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Courses are a 36-hole facility located in the famed Monterey Bay, 2 hours south of San Francisco. Monterey area isn’t a big city, about 100,000 people in the area. We are minutes from multiple top 100 golf courses in one of the country’s best known golf destinations. The golf courses were completely renovated in 2006-2008 and added a site for a hotel and resort, which will be starting construction very soon. There are several private communities around the property (one under construction and two more to start construction within the year). The golf courses will undergo another renovation of bunkers, resurfacing greens with new varieties of bentgrass, regrassing fairways, tees and rough to perennial ryegrass, and a major turf reduction and redesign of one of the courses. The renovation dates haven’t been set, but most likely 2023.
