Assistant Superintendent

Duties

• Communicate with the Superintendent to discuss current and future plans.
• Organize and plan in-house projects
• Make recommendations to the Superintendent related to the maintenance necessary to meet and exceed the expectation levels
• Educate, train, and motivate all staff members
• Planning and application of fertilizers and pesticides throughout the property
• Oversee the daily operations in the absence of the Superintendent

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field considered an asset
• Experience as Irrigation Tech, Spray Tech, Foreman, 2nd Assistant Superintendent with a proven background in a progressive environment
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Computer skills including Microsoft office programs, TORO LYNX, e-mail, internet.
• Valid driver’s license and pesticide applicators license or capable of attaining within 6 months of employment
• Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes, working long hours, weekends and holidays
• Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, taking initiative based on professional interpretation
• Self-motivated, hands on and willing to contribute to the agronomic team to provide high quality golf conditions.
