| Governors Club is a private, 27 hole golfing community with approximately 35,000 annual rounds. The Jack Nicklaus Signature Design was established in 1990. Nestled in the rolling terrain of Chapel Hill, the course runs through and around Edwards Mountain. At 600-feet above sea level, Edwards Mountain is the highest point in the triangle. The property offers a variety of golfing experiences with three distinct nines appropriately named: the Lakes Course, the Foothills Course and the Mountain Course. Governors Club is offering an internship program for the summer of 2022. The internship program is for up-and-coming students that are seeking a career in the golf industry. The interns will work closely with the GCS and Assistant GCS. Candidates are welcome from any growing conditions all over the United Sates. A great way to learn warm season grasses and intensely managed Champion ultradwarf bermudagrass greens. This program is designed to have all interns ready for a First Assistant position at a high end club following college graduation. Golf course details: - 31 Champion ultra-dwarf putting greens

This position is a great way for students to learn from a talented staff and management team. Interns will rotate into five key areas of the golf course operation every two week. - Equipment repair- work alongside our Head Equipment Technician
- Use of all turf and grounds equipment
- Spray and spreader applications
- Moisture and agronomic measurements using innovative turf tools
- Irrigation repair- work alongside our irrigation technician
Preferred Qualifications and Qualities: - Have a goal of becoming an Assistant Superintendent immediately after graduation
- Enthusiastic attitude to learn ultradwarf Bermuda greens
- Currently or committed enrollment in a 2 or 4 year turfgrass program
- NC Driver’s license
- Detail oriented
- Ability to lift 50-pound bag of fertilizer
