| Governors Club is a private, 27 hole golfing community with approximately 35,000 annual rounds. The Jack Nicklaus Signature Design was established in 1990. Nestled in the rolling terrain of Chapel Hill, the course runs through and around Edwards Mountain. At 600-feet above sea level, Edwards Mountain is the highest point in the triangle. The property offers a variety of golfing experiences with three distinct nines appropriately named: the Lakes Course, the Foothills Course and the Mountain Course. Governors Club is seeking an energetic and professional turf manager that is goal oriented and can work well with all team members throughout the club. The Assistant GCS will work directly under the Golf Course Superintendent and eager to learn all aspects of the golf course maintenance operation. Having the ability and skill set to communicate to team members and Golf Course Superintendent is very important. The candidate will rotate every third weekend except for tournaments and other big events. Golf course details: - 31 Champion ultra-dwarf putting greens

- Early stages of a Jack Nicklaus master plan to renovate the golf course and practice areas
Duties will include but not limited to: - Train and educate seasonal and intern staff
- Host (4) safety meetings per year
- Attend a minimum of (3) greens committee meetings per year
- Plan and carry out of efficient day to day course operations
- Calibration and apply fertilizers and pesticides utilizing IPM program
- Water management including scheduling, repair and troubleshooting
- Personnel management
- Organized record keeping of projects, chemical and fertilizer applications, rain totals, moisture readings on greens and agronomic programs.
- Budget and purchase supplies for projects
Preferred Qualifications and Qualities: - Have goals of becoming a GC Superintendent within 4 years of hire
- Enthusiastic attitude to help manage and learn ultradwarf Bermuda greens
- 2 or 4 year turfgrass or related program preferred but not required
- 2-3 years golf course maintenance experience
- NC Pesticide License or ability to acquire within 90 days
- NC Drivers license
- Detail oriented
- Ability to lift 50-pound bag of fertilizer
- Able to multitask
