Assistant in Training

This is an entry level management position intended to prepare the right candidate for potential advancement within Colorado Golf Club’s agronomy department and within the turf industry.  The ideal candidate will have the desire to take on progressive responsibility and create opportunity within a high-end facility that puts a demand on tournament type playing conditions daily. This provides an excellent opportunity for either a recent turf degree/certificate graduate with great internship experience or someone in a similar position looking to take on more experience in order for further advancement within the industry.  A positive attitude, desire to learn, and a team driven mindset are intangibles required in a candidate. 

Job responsibilities include:

• The calibration, operation, and monitoring of all spray and granular application equipment
• The application or monitoring of fertilizers and plant protectant applications
• Coordinating spray schedules, IPM programs, and invasive species management program with the Head and Assistant Superintendents
• Direct small crew management and observation of maintenance staff
• Identifying and addressing disease and turf health issues
• Direct communication with management regarding daily observations, work schedule progress, and any other items pertinent to the conditions of the golf course
• Irrigation repair and trouble shooting in coordination with our irrigation technician
• Aiding in our moisture management program on greens, tees, and fairways
• Any and all other tasks set forth by the Agronomy department
