Assistant Superintendent
Big Easy Ranch
An opportunity like no other! Big Easy Ranch is currently constructing a new 18-hole course, The Covey, and is hiring an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. The Covey pairs nicely with our existing 9-hole par three course, The Antler, both designed by Chet Williams. An expected completion date of late Fall 2022 will give the Assistant an opportunity to finish growing in a brand-new golf course. The Covey is being sprigged with Tif Eagle bermudagrass on the greens and Zeon Zoysia sod everywhere else on top of an 8” sand cap. Brand new agronomy facility will house a fleet of John Deere’s finest golf equipment. In the Summer of 2023, The Antler will undergo a greens renovation to match putting surfaces with The Covey. A great time to be apart of Big Easy Ranch and help build something spectacular.
The Assistant Superintendent will work with the Director of Agronomy and Golf Course Superintendent to provide the best quality playing surfaces daily. With guidance from the Superintendent the Assistant Superintendent will be focused on managing the agronomy team in the field. Tasked with creating and executing timely fertility and preventative chemical application. Monitoring moisture of all playing surfaces and surrounding landscapes. Lead small projects and train staff on all levels of golf course maintenance and landscape practices. Big Easy Ranch has over 135 acres of maintained turf; this position needs a candidate with a keen eye for detail over a vast property. Follow the progress on Twitter @BER_Golf27
