| Elite Golf Management is seeking a highly motivated assistant superintendent to join the team at Wildhorse Golf Club in Henderson, NV. Owned by the City of Henderson, Wildhorse is one of six Elite Golf managed facilities located in Southern Nevada. A “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary”, Wildhorse features an 18-hole layout perfect for all levels of play, an extensive practice facility and two championship disc golf courses that play host to numerous championships throughout the year. The assistant superintendent will report directly to the golf course superintendent and will be expected to take a hands-on approach to management of the maintenance operation. Experience as an assistant, second assistant, AIT, or irrigation tech is preferred. Turfgrass management degree or certificate is desirable and the ability to speak Spanish is a plus. Flexible to work weekends/holidays as needed. Position requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, golfers, and colleagues. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to advance in the golf course maintenance field as Elite manages 13 properties in four states. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Assist in the planning, scheduling, and implementation of agronomic practices
- Experience with warm-season grasses
- Supervision and training of employees
- Maintenance and performance of irrigation system
- Operation and upkeep of maintenance equipment as needed
- Knowledge of pesticide and fertilizer use
- Basic understanding of the rules of golf
- Enforce and follow rules, guidelines, and company policies
- Special projects or other duties as assigned
Valid Nevada Driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Nevada Pesticide Applicators Certification is required. Salary: 45-52k + health/dental, paid vacation, sick leave, uniform, and golf privileges |
