Seasonal Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent

Company: Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club and Pine Trace Golf Club

Position Info: Seasonal, 4-5 months, approximately June-September 

Superintendent Salary: PINE TRACE $7500 per month, plus $1,000 per month for housing expenses 

Assistant Superintendent Salary: PINE TRACE and SHEPHERD'S HOLLOW          $6,000 per month, plus $1,000 per month for housing expenses 

Position Summary:

• Summer time work opportunity for superintendents and assistant superintendents
• Work 4-5 months in Michigan at two established golf clubs, Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club and Pine Trace Golf Club
• Oversee all activities related to the maintenance of the golf course grounds and equipment
• Plans all maintenance and project work, applying his or her agronomic and administrative expertise to achieve the agreed upon maintenance standards and long-range goals.
• Hires, trains, and supervises a staff of employees for the purpose of maintaining the golf course and an understanding of how their actions impact the golf course and the customer’s experience.
• In accordance with the Owner, acquires equipment and purchases necessary supplies to maintain the golf course to the established standards. The Superintendent is responsible for the inventory control and oversees the equipment maintenance programs.
• The Superintendent approves all golf course budgeted expenditures and exercises cost control measures to keep operating and capital expenses in line with approved budgets.
• Keeps accurate and complete records on payroll, inventory, weather data, maintenance procedures, pesticide applications, and fuel usage and inventory, etc.
• Communicates regularly with other members of management to discuss activities, goals, plans, and customer input.

Requirements:

• Turfgrass management degree
• 3 years of management or leadership experience
