Sand Valley
Sand Valley is the latest golf venture to be developed by Mike Keiser. The project is led by Managing Partner, Michael Keiser Jr. Much like the other Keiser properties Bandon Dunes and Cabot Links, Sand Valley is a high-profile, one-of-a-kind golf project certain to become one of the great golf destinations in America.
Located in central Wisconsin, in Town of Rome, Sand Valley is situated in the pre-historic lake bottom in the sand barren region of the state. The development currently covers 9,000 acres of previously wooded timber land, which is being resorted to its natural dunes land state. Sand Valley opened its first course and 50 overnight rooms in 2017, followed by the opening of Mammoth Dunes by David Kidd and the Sandbox, a 17-hole short course by Coore & Crenshaw in May of 2018. In addition to three award winning golf courses, the property currently entails: 100 room (keys) 168 beds of overnight accommodations, an intimate housing development, food and beverage outlets, an indoor fitness center, hiking trails, grass tennis courts and other outdoor activities.
The Sandbox possesses ten acres of maintained fine fescue variety for tees and fairways. The greens consist of modern creeping bentgrass varieties while covering 2.5 acres of the course. The Sandbox maintenance team is also responsible for maintaining the current 10-acre practice facility. There is a planned renovation and expansion of the practice facility beginning Fall of 2022. Position Summary: Responsible for all activities related to the care and maintenance of the golf course, grounds, and equipment. Assists the Superintendent with planning and implementing budget and operating plans. Hires, trains and supervises staff. Responsibilities also include applying relevant landscaping, horticultural principles to assure that quality standards are consistently achieved and/or exceeded. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Working Conditions: Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement weather, potentially dangerous chemicals, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, sharp and rapid equipment movement daily. Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed.
