Sarasota National is an 18-hole Gordy Lewis Design with Tif sport Bermuda Tees, Fairways, Roughs and Tif Eagle Greens. We are currently in the early stages of planning a renovation with the possibility of adding more golf. We are looking for an Assistant superintendent who is looking to grow in the industry and gain valuable Construction and grow-in experience.
This position manages employees and is responsible for the performance management and assisting in interviewing and hiring of the employees within the department, training and leading team, and assist in providing conditions that exceed member expectations daily.
Experience as an Assistant Superintendent, AIT, Intern spray tech, or irrigation tech is not required but preferred, ideal candidate will want to grow in the industry, be involved in a future course renovation and ability to communicate thoroughly with staff, other departments and membership
Working knowledge of golf course operations, turf management and practices necessary
Fertilizer and Chemical application, Project Management, Water Management, Golf Course Construction/Renovation, Irrigation and Drainage, Employee Training, Computer Skills (word, excel), Ability to obtain Florida State Pesticide License within 6 months.
Become BMP certified within first year
Excellent skills in time management
Pass background check
Ability to think outside the box to increase productivity
Strong leadership
