With this beauty comes maintenance challenges common to cold regions with harsh winters and short growing seasons. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, organized and energetic individual who has knowledge and experience in maintaining turf in cold climate territories.

The Superintendent will be responsible for maintaining the entire property including the golf course, driving range, practice facility and the surrounding areas of the restaurant, golf shop and the front entrance. He/She will also be responsible for maintaining outbuildings, cleaning and maintaining on-course bathrooms and maintaining the paved cart paths, ponds and split rail fencing/potato rock areas throughout the golf course.
We are looking for an experienced individual with exceptional people skills who is passionate about enhancing and continually growing the reputation of our facility through leadership, team building and an emphasis on high level customer service.

Oversee a staff of 7-10 maintenance employees and a first assistant/mechanic and will need to be skilled in recruiting, training, motivating and evaluating personnel.
Develop annual operational budget and plan for equipment and capital improvement projects.
Control all maintenance expenses including payroll, supplies, chemicals and fertilizers.
Oversee maintenance of all mechanical power equipment.
Oversee maintenance of electric club car fleet of 70 cars
Maintain irrigation system and software
Responsible for applying and recording all chemical applications (fertilizers and pesticides) in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Schedule maintenance practices around public/member play to minimize disruption to players.
Maintain snow removal of parking lots and pathways and monitor and remove roof top snow when necessary.
2-year Degree in Turf Management
3-5 years experience as a Head Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
Computer skills required for financial reporting and control of operations
Pesticide Applicators License required
Complete knowledge of regulatory requirements and recordkeeping in accordance with state and federal laws
Team player who can foster strong relationships with Members, guests and staff
The 4 ½ star Golf Digest rated St. Germain Golf Club is a beautiful, well-manicured municipal/resort style course cut through the Northwood’s forest and is known as one of the best courses in Northern Wisconsin. One of the most unique features of the course is that there are no houses on the property.
