The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will be involved in the daily maintenance of two golf courses, Club and Equestrian, and will work closely with the Superintendents and the Director of Golf Courses Maintenance. The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will manage and perform fertilizer/pesticide calibration as well as proper application practices. Daily responsibilities will include but not limited to course setup, irrigation repair, disease identification, and water management. Assistants will also be responsible for the management of a 50+ member team.
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
Ability to work independently to carry out written and verbal instructions
Ability to visually inspect golf course conditions and clubhouse grounds
Good organizational and prioritization skills
Well versed in Microsoft Office
Possess a pesticide and fertilizer license/ability to obtain both within 90 days
Highly motivated and positive team attitude
Requires knowledge of agronomy and related practices.
Requires knowledge of the game of golf.
Must be able to supervise work effectively.
Must have good customer relations skills.

The Polo Club of Boca Raton offers 2 championship golf courses for its members to enjoy; the Equestrian Course and the Club Course. The Equestrian Course, which was recently renovated in 2017, has Celebration Bermudagrass tees, fairways and rough with TifEagle greens. The course also installed a new Toro irrigation system. The Club course is scheduled for a major renovation in 2022. This is a unique opportunity for the Assistant Superintendent to work closely with the Director of Golf Course Maintenance and Golf Course Superintendent in the planning, prepping, and executing of the Club Course renovation.
