Saratoga Golf and Polo Club is a 9-hole private golf course located in the heart of Saratoga Springs, NY. The club was recently ranked the 11th best 9-hole course in the world by Golf Magazine. We are currently undergoing a maintenance facility renovation after completing a golf course renovation in 2020. We are seeking a skilled Equipment Manager to join our team. With a new maintenance facility, the Equipment Manager will have the opportunity to organize the shop as they see fit. The maintenance fleet is primarily Toro equipment.
The Equipment Manager reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all equipment for the golf course. Other duties will include purchasing, record keeping, maintaining inventory, and they may be asked to assist in golf course maintenance as needed. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with exceptional organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work on a team.
Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all equipment
Daily reel maintenance, adjusting height of cut and reels to bedknife contact
Reel and bedknife grinding
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop, parts room, and maintenance building
Participation in training of staff regarding preventative maintenance, safe operation, and cleaning of equipment.
This is a M-F (40-45 hrs/week) position during the growing season, occasional weekend work will be required during tournaments
3 or more years of experience in repairing diesel and gasoline powered equipment, hydraulic, electrical systems and welding
Preferred experience in golf course equipment maintenance.
Ability to move heavy objects up to 75 lbs or more and endure long periods of standing, kneeling while working.
Valid Driver’s License
