You should be strongly motivated and demonstrate thoroughness in your work and desire to learn. Excellent verbal communication skills are required. Strong computer skills and Spanish speaking skills are a plus.
The Equipment Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all turf equipment for the golf course, vehicles and some light building repair and maintenance. The Equipment Technician may be asked to assist in golf course maintenance as needed. Other duties will include purchasing, record keeping, maintaining stock and inventory, assistance with budgeting and long-range planning
Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all equipment and company vehicles.
Knowledge and experience in repairing diesel and gasoline powered equipment, hydraulic and electrical systems, welding, and fabrication.
Develop a cutting unit maintenance program to keep reels and blades performing and maintaining a quality of cut for maximum golf course appearance and performance.
Accurate record keeping, parts/tool inventory, budget management and reporting.
Maintain safe, meticulously clean, and organized shop, parts room, maintenance buildings and grounds.
Willingness to share facility space, tools, and workload with current staff.
Ability to communicate effectively to the turf management team.
Participation in training of staff regarding preventative maintenance, safe operation, and cleaning of equipment.
Willingness to travel the grounds, inspect equipment performance and quality of cut.
Valid Driver’s License.
Ability to move heavy objects up to 50 lbs. or more and endure long periods of standing, kneeling while working.
Knowledge of the game of golf a plus.
Understanding of how equipment performance and efficiency impacts production, course playing conditions and member satisfaction.
Willingness to work 44 hours/week April – October and 40 hours/week November – March. Optional: 4, 10-hour day schedule during off season. Tuesday through Friday or Monday through Thursday

About Cress Creek Country Club
Cress Creek Country Club was established in 1963 as Illinois’ first residential golf course and designed by David Gill. The club consists of 18 holes, practice facilities, four clay tennis courts, and two pools. It was purchased by membership in 1988 and is currently the premier private family club in the Western suburbs of Chicago. With around 550 members, Cress Creek CC is a thriving club that most recently underwent a renovation in 2008 lead by golf course architect Ron Prichard. A new irrigation system was installed in 2008 as well.
