St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Mechanic 3 for our well established St. John’s Golf Club that is located in beautiful Elkton, Florida.

The St. Johns County Golf Course Maintenance Department is responsible for providing golf to our residents and guests.
Employees work in a team oriented environment in a variety of divisions with two common goals in mind: to provide the best services to our citizens and to be the best public golf course in North Florida.
The newly selected Mechanic 3 will oversee the fleet of equipment that maintains the golf course, maintain a preventative maintenance program, maintain gasoline and diesel records, repairs to all equipment, sharpening and grinding of reels, setting and adjustments to all height of cuts for mowers, golf cart fleet maintenance and upkeep of batteries, maintain budget for equipment repairs, able to work on the golf course when needed after being trained, and lead a crew on weekend shifts.

Organizes, leads by example, safety and cleanliness a top priority.
Reviews existing work processes, work relationships, space utilization, equipment needs, and computer operations to promote effective operations; develops and implements approved organizational and administrative changes.
Facilitates the resolution of customer issues and complaints; resolves issues referred by the Board of County Commissioners.
Assists department staff with the preparation, presentation and management of capital improvement and operational budgets.
Candidates for the Mechanic 3 position are encouraged to apply if they meet the following minimum qualifications:
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with golf course equipment managers. Certificate in related field preferred but not required.
