The golf course superintendent is responsible for supervising the maintenance of the golf course, clubhouse grounds, maintenance and repair of all equipment, and the maintenance building. The superintendent will work to create a team environment.
The position reports to the Director of Golf Operations and Grounds Chairman.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Golf Superintendent.
Demonstrated ability to grow and maintain Bermuda type grasses in excellent condition.
2-year Degree or Certificate in Turf Management (or related field, like agronomy, horticulture, plant science, soil science).
Advance computer skills required for financial reporting and control of operations, including use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid Driver's License.
Pesticide Application License
Prefer Certification by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America

Has completed formal education in agronomy, turf management, and golf course maintenance practices.
Requires demonstrated knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management practices; a working knowledge of golf facility construction principles and methods; and a thorough understanding of the rules of golf.
Has in-depth knowledge and demonstrated expertise in overseeing large capital projects such as irrigation systems, golf course renovations and re-grassing projects.
Requires a high degree of administrative and executive ability, especially in terms of problem solving and decision making.
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
Requires knowledge of current federal, State, and local laws and regulations affecting the management of golf course operations.
Requires participation in continuing education opportunities such as seminars, workshops, correspondence courses, field days and trade shows.
Requires current state licensing as a pesticide applicator.

Demonstrated expertise in overseeing large capital projects, such as irrigation systems, golf course renovations, and re-grassing.
Fiscally responsible in maintaining and implementing annual budgets.
Team player with proven record of staff recruiting and retention

Gator Creek Opened in 1974, this Joe Lee design is a unique club, there are few like it the United States. The club is located on 230 acres in Sarasota, Florida. The course has sets of tees that range from 5934 yards to 7052 yards. The golf course is complete with Celebration fairways, 419 roughs, and Tif Eagle greens. Gator Creek is a full equity club made up of only 250 members, in which memberships are only available through referral and sponsorship of 3 existing members. Gator Creek does not have tee times and prides itself on fast play and fast greens.
