Cascade Hills Country Club is seeking an Assistant-In-Training.
The club was founded in 1921 and is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Grand Rapids ranked in the top 15 of best places to live in America by the U.S. News and World Report in 2021-2022.
The golf course offers 27 holes maintained to top industry standards. The 27 holes are comprised of an 18-hole golf course, par 71, and a 9-hole par 3 golf course. The Assistant-In-Training will have responsibilities on all 27 holes.
Expected to lead and train small crews while performing golf course maintenance tasks
Responsible for water management of greens, tees, fairways, sod, etc.
Properly mix and calibrate equipment for plant protectant and fertilizer applications
Perform accurate spray and/or fertilizer applications in accordance with all regulations
Assist with golf course projects
2 or 4 year degree in Turfgrass Management (or in the process of obtaining the degree)
At least 2-3 years of golf course experience
Have the ability to obtain a Michigan pesticide certification
Willingness to learn and positive attitude
Knowledge of the game of golf is a plus
Experience maintenance on various green construction and grass types (Push up greens with Poa/Bentgrass mix and USGA greens with T-1 bentgrass)
