The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, has been specifically trained to operate specialized equipment and/or to perform specific tasks relative to pesticide and fertilizer applications and tasks relative to irrigation applications to the golf course and selected sites. Operates motorized equipment as related to construction, maintenance, and renovation of golf course and selected sites. Responsibilities include delegating work assignments, overseeing job performance, and inspecting golf course conditions.
Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in construction renovation and maintenance as related to golf course and selected sites.
Knowledge of safe mechanical operations of all other motorized equipment used in maintenance of golf course and selected sites.
Knowledge of construction, maintenance and renovation techniques and cultural practices used on golf course and selected sites.
Complete knowledge of pesticide and fertilizer application equipment.
Knowledge of mixing and loading techniques, and applications of chemicals as related to golf course and selected sites.
Ability to obtain a Florida Restricted Use Pesticide Applicators License (Commercial Ornamental and Turf) within one year of date in position.
Good organizational skills.
Knowledge of irrigation equipment.
Ability to perform preventative maintenance and servicing of irrigation equipment.
Ability to maintain and log all servicing and general maintenance of irrigation system.
Detail oriented and self motivated.
Proven leadership abilities.
Ability to follow oral and written directions.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Minimum 2 or 4 year degree in Turfgrass Management or related.
