Assistant Superintendent

Rich Harvest Farms is a world-class golf-only facility owned and designed by Mr. Jerry Rich. In 1987, Jerry began the development of Rich Harvest Farms and ten years later, all 18 holes were completed. It was rated 5th Best New Private Golf Course by Golf Digest in 1997 and three years later, made Golf Digest’s America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses. Rich Harvest Farms has hosted the 2009 Solheim Cup, 2015/2021 Palmer Cup, 2017 NCAA Men’s and Women’s National Championship and continually hosts multiple tournaments each year. For 2023 we will be hosting the Big Ten Championship and the 2022 Northern Illinois Intercollegiate.  Rich Harvest Farms is currently ranked 90 in the Golf Digest ranking.

                Jeff VerCautren, Superintendent, has been at RHF for 20 years.  We have moved several Assistant Superintendents to Golf Course Superintendent positions.  Former Assistant references available upon request.

                Most projects that occur at Rich Harvest Farms are done in-house, providing an ideal situation for a young turf professional to learn and gain valuable experience to best prepare them for career advancement in the golf course industry.
