The assistant golf course superintendent works closely with the golf course superintendent in the operation and maintenance of the golf course and club grounds. The assistant golf course superintendent schedules the daily tasks; supervises and trains employees. The assistant golf course superintendent must demonstrate the ability to maintain the golf course at a high level with a high attention to detail.
2-3 years of golf course maintenance experience
Minimum 2-year degree or certificate in agronomy or a turf-related field
Pesticide operators or applicators license
Experience applying fertilizers and pesticides
Experience operating and repairing irrigation systems
Knowledge of IPM and disease management
Work 40+ hours a week, and every other weekend (during the season)
Communicate with membership in a positive and professional manner
Highly motivated, willingness to learn and grow in the industry
