Assistant superintendent, Director of Agronomy, Golf Course Superintendent
Timacuan Golf is excited to bring on board a new Golf Course Superintendent! This is the first time this position has opened up in over 10 yrs. If you are energetic, highly motivated, and detail oriented, we’d love to hear from you! We are open to a senior assistant or young superintendent who’s eager to take their career to the next level. The superintendent is entrusted with overseeing the maintenance, operations and management of the golf course, as well as other grounds surrounding all maintainable property.
Manage and maintain all grounds within the property boundaries including the golf course, driving range, clubhouse surrounds and other maintainable property.
Program and supervise turf/grass, material and chemical maintenance including all planting, fertilizing and chemical applications, as well as other care needs for turf, plants, shrubs and trees.
Supervise maintenance and operation of drainage, irrigation and other mechanical watering systems
Maintain inventory and oversee all repairs and scheduled maintenance of all golf course maintenance equipment.
Communicate regularly with the Golf Department to discuss activities, goals, and plans.
Responsible for hiring, training and developing all maintenance related staff.
Coordinate scheduling and maximize productivity of the maintenance staff.
Help implement policies and procedures for maintenance.
Procure supplies and materials within budgetary limitations.
Keep accurate and complete records on inventory, maintenance procedures, fertilization and chemical application logs, human resources files, etc.
Prepare annual budgets and help provide routine reports of forecasting, expense control and labor management that help meet financial goals throughout the year.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Desired Skills:
3-5 years turf grass management experience
Experienced in supervisory, training and staff development
Highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detail
Thrive in problem solving and decision making
Knowledge of budgeting and expense management
Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the management of golf course operations
Pesticide Applicators License required
Minimum 2-year College Agronomy Degree preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Word and Excel
Open to someone interested in relocating to Central Florida
