Position Summary: Under the general supervision of CSC Golf Management, Senior Management and the owner’s or their representatives, performs a variety of supervisory and skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of the assigned golf property.
Using excellent customer service skills, establishes effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the public maintaining an atmosphere of complete hospitality with staff and guests.
Plans, prioritizes, communicates, teaches, and manages daily job tasks for assigned staff.
Checks all putting greens, tee boxes, fairways and roughs daily.
Trains employees on golf course maintenance machinery and all other aspects of golf course procedures and/or policies including etiquette.
Participates in the annual budget process by creating first drafts and purchasing products as needed per the budget.
Facilitates and assists in the hiring and/or terminating of golf course maintenance staff.
Ensures buildings and equipment are organized and maintained always and that these meet all employer and lease requirements. Work areas are to be clean and always organized. All tools are to be organized and accounted for.
Ensures that each golf course is current with training programs, postings and notices for the Department of Health and Department of Agriculture, OSHA, and all regulatory agencies.
Performs or assists subordinates in performing duties such as mowing or weed whipping grass on the tee boxes, fairways, roughs, collars, and greens; irrigating the course and working on its watering system; sodding; trimming; and applying fertilizer and pesticides on and around the course. Must have or obtain an Applicators License.
Ensures that record keeping for regulatory agencies is kept current and available to inspectors.
Develops and implements a fertilizer program for each golf course based on soil reports.
Develops and implements a chemical application program for each golf course using IPM as the crux of the program.
Inspects golf course maintenance and improvement services provided by contractors or vendors for compliance with performance standards
Performs daily closing procedures.
Attends local association meetings with approval from supervisor.
Prepares and maintains daily, monthly, and annual reports and records as assigned.
Maintains personal grooming and appearance standards.
Performs any other duties that are necessary for the successful operation.

Knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf and golf etiquette.
Ability to perform and demonstrate all functions, activities and techniques applicable to the golf course maintenance procedures and policies.
Skill and ability to plan and assign work to subordinates.
Ability to identify pests and recommend control methods.
Ability to operate all maintenance equipment including walking and riding greens mowers, tee mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, rollers, bunker rakes, carts, push mowers and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools.
Ability to operate irrigation system, wells, and domestic water system.
Ability to apply fertilizer and pesticides.
Certification by all governing agencies applicable.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
