Indian Bayou Golf Club, located in Destin, 50 miles east of Pensacola, is the oldest club in the Destin area, opening in 1977. The golf course was originally designed by Earl Stone and he, again, was the architect for the renovation in 2001.
We maintain 95 acres of bermudagrass turf with some zoysia tees and club grounds. Greens are TifEagle.
We are a "golf only" club meaning our members and guests come here for only one reason so expectations for excellent course conditions are very high.
Position reports directly to the superintendent and works with the superintendent and assistant superintendent to implement the IPM program.
Responsibilities include majority of material applications, record keeping of all applications, inventory and proper storage of all fertilizers, pesticides, and plant health products.
As an AIT, this person will participate in all other areas of the golf course management program not only at a task level but also in the planning, budgeting, implementation and assessment of the entire agronomic and resource management program.
There will also be exposure to proper staff management and learning effective supervisory skills including accountability for what is done by others.
This position is for someone wanting to learn how to and work toward becoming a golf course superintendent.
Must have valid driver's license
Must pass pre-employment drug screening
Must obtain FL commercial applicators license within 6 months.
