The equipment manager is responsible for all facets of equipment repair and maintenance. This individual’s responsibility is to effectively manage multiple fleets of turf equipment and its facilities. The equipment manager position is responsible to the Director of Golf Maintenance & Landscape Operations and is responsible for assets in excess of 2 million dollars including transportation carts from the hotel, fleet vehicles utilized by our members and guests and our turf equipment fleet. Our equipment consists of a variety of John Deere, Toro and Jacobsen equipment with the majority John Deere. Our operation also utilizes SIP grinders and holds a very high standard for quality of cut.

Continue managing our preventive maintenance program with accurate record keeping.
Lead a team of 3 equipment technicians.
Trains, mentors and instructs assistant technicians on the maintenance and diagnosis of all equipment in the fleet.
Adheres to all health, safety and environmental regulations. (Proper disposal of waste oils, tires, etc.)
Schedules and organizes daily, weekly and monthly repair and maintenance schedules.
Takes lead on our departmental training program, assisting in the training of equipment operators on the safe operation and daily requirements of operating equipment.
Keeps a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.
Responsible for the organization and care of the equipment facilities. Cleanliness and organization are a must for this position!
Completes daily course checks to insure cut quality and proper operation of equipment.
Should possess some knowledge of Agronomy.
Ability to prepare and effectively manage a budget.
In the absence of the Director, Golf Course Superintendent and/or the assistant superintendent is capable of managing daily course operation and staff.
Assists in the purchasing and selection of new turf and/or landscape equipment.
Ability to utilize computer systems such as our purchase order system, excel, word, PM System and power point.
Working knowledge of all turf and landscape equipment functions, systems and safety. (Cutting unit set-up, hydraulic theory and diagnosis, electrical theory and diagnosis, combustion engines, welding, etc.)
Ability to utilize various trade tools and the safety guidelines of their use.
Ability to move heavy objects.
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Basic understanding of the game of golf and the effects this position has on the overall condition and play-ability of the game.
The ability to communicate on a professional level with staff, vendors, members, and guests daily.
