Responsible for directing, coordinating, and overseeing the day-to-day Isleta Eagle Golf Club’s and Isleta’s Lakes maintenance operations and personnel, focusing on ensuring the best possible playing conditions, personnel, and fiscal management while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests. Ensures employee and customer/playercompliance and conforms to all Tribal, Federal, State, Pueblo of Isleta Regulatory, and Isleta Resort and Casino regulations.
Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement

Trains operators in proper use of the equipment.
Oversees and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation, sprinklers, clocks, reading meters, and drainage systems.
Tracks daily records of maintenance activities such as chemicals applied, fuel consumption, grass seed used, etc.
Works closely with the Director of Golf and staff to coordinate maintenance schedules, special events, and daily play requirements.
Works closely with the Lakes staff to coordinate maintenance schedules and special events.
Orders supplies, materials, and equipment and ensures all tools and supplies are properly and securely stored.
Conducts course/regulargrounds inspections to ensure the best possible & safe playing conditions.
Coordinates driving range maintenance with the Head Golf Professional.
Ensures an open and welcoming atmosphere that promotes skill enhancementand overall safety.
Greets players/guests, maintains a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive player/guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
Gives basic instruction on all promotions and special events.
Assists in preparing and administers the Maintenance annual budget.
Coordinates with other Isleta Golf Club personnel to accomplish approved projects in a timely and efficient manner.
Leads and oversees daily construction repairs and maintenance.
Supervises the repair and maintenance of all mechanical and motorized equipment.
Personnel & Administrative Tasks:
Monitors staff performance, behavior, and attendance to ensure adherence to all Isleta Resort and Casino SOPs and directs disciplinary action as warranted.
Increases the Golf’s Maintenance Department effectiveness by recruiting, interviewing, selecting, promoting, training, coaching, counseling, assigns and delegates work, disciplining, reassigning, and terminating employees as needed.
Schedules and plans shift schedules, calendars, communicates departmental and organizational goals, and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Ensures department is properly staffed and motivated to exceed the Isleta Resort and Casino’s goals and objectives.
Grants and/or denies PTO Requests as they pertain to scheduling.
Conducts planning sessions and performance reviews.
· Enforces department standards, objectives, and policy that are in accordance with the Isleta Resort and Casino’s organizational mission.
· Maintains a skilled, trained, and motivated staff through continuous communication, feedback, and effective customer service training.
Resolves, both, internal and external player/guest issues and problems in a timely and professional manner.
Conducts annual evaluations of the employees
Occasionally performs duties of subordinates and other duties as need.
Accountability and Supervision:
Directly supervises the Assistant Superintendent.
Administers supervisory employment actions and responsibilities in accordance with the Isleta Resort and Casino’s policies, SOPs, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining of employees; promoting, demoting, and reassigning employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Turf Grass Management, required.
Five (5) years Golf Couse Superintendent Experience preferred.
Five (5) years automated irrigation systems experience, required.
Must possess and maintain a Federal and NM Pesticide Applicators License, required.
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification
Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license. Should not have had a driver’s license revoked or suspended in the last three (3) years prior to the date of the employment application. Acceptability will be determined by Risk Management. Driving records will be checked.
Must acquire and maintain all other licenses as identified by the IRC.

Must possess thorough knowledge of the principles, procedures, and operations of golf.

Must possess moderate computer skills and be able to operate Microsoft applications and software.

Must be familiar with all applicable regulations related to chemical use, application, and general safety procedures for all chemicals used in custodial operations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to lift, move, and place 50 pounds repeatedely and/or with assistance on a frequent basis
Must be able to push and/or pull 50 pounds.
Must be able to lift up to 200 pounds with assistance.
Must be able to work in small confined areas.
Must be able to operate common golf course equiptment such as mowers, sprayers, backhoes, trucks, etc.
Work is generally performed in and outside golf course setting with exposure to extreme weather conditions such as high levels of heat, cold, winds, rain, hail, and snow with moderate expose to unusual elements such as dust, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Possible exposure to binding materials for plastic pipe, Blood Borne Pathogens, and other materials and tools that may, if not properly and safety handled, may result in bodily harm. Occasionally may be required to interact with hostile and/or angry guests.
