Job Summary: Assist Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf with numerous activities relating to the management operation of the club’s golf program.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Set-up tournaments using tournament program golf genius/TPP including creating scorecards, pairings, player lists, and scoreboards.
Maintains handicap records.
Merchandising/assist with golf shop inventory.
Oversees inventory of necessary in house products such as scorecards, and pencils etc.
Oversees inventory for golf club repair (grips).
Maintaining records of all special orders, and club repairs.
Maintains proper records of golf cart maintenance.
Instructor of golf lessons and clinics.
Assist in day to day golf operations.
Manages daily opening and closing operations.
Supervise the outside staff.
Assists in coordination of golf tournaments and special events such as trunk shows.
Ensures that tournament winners are properly entered into credit book.
Creates results sheets, making copies and ensuring that it is entered into the correct files.
Performs starter and marshalling duties as needed.
Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by Golf Pro/Director of Golf.
Supervision Received: Golf Pro/Director of Golf
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage staff of the pro shop.
Certifications:PGA and/or LPGA certified or working towards PGA and/or LPGA certification.
Skills & Abilities:
Fully knowledgeable of all opening and closeout procedures of the golf shop.
Familiar with all aspects of tournament set up.
Understanding of handicapping system.
Stays up to date on club events.
Maintain own playing ability.
Ability to communicate and teach the game to members, guests, and children.
Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
Fundamental supervisory practices and principles.
Responsible for maintaining a clean, and safe working environment for all.
Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees.
Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
Self-motivated with a desire to promote and market.
Experienced in written and oral business communications.
Experienced computer user including; Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament and database.
Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community.
Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trends.
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently is required to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from residents, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations.
