Aspen Lakes Golf Course is located just east of the tourist town of Sisters, Oregon. It is the centerpiece of the Aspen Lakes residential community and is one of the state’s top-rated golf courses. Opened in 2000, the William Overdorf designed course has hosted many events over the years including Oregon Opens and numerous other tournaments.
The superintendent will be involved in daily and long-term planning and direction of the golf course maintenance operation. Will work closely with, and under the direction of the Director of Golf.
Duties will include all activities crucial to maintaining a quality golf course including:
Ordering and purchasing materials.
Interviewing and hiring new crew members
Supervision and training of the Assistants, Mechanics, Crew training
Fertilizer and pesticide application
Construction project planning, implementation, and supervision
Capital for operations and capital spending.
Daily inspection of golf course and club house grounds
A 2-year or 4-year degree in Turfgrass management. Must have pesticide applicators license. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, excellent communication, decision-making, and leadership skills. A positive attitude and strong work ethic are required. The Superintendent will be required to communicate in a positive manner with the Director of Golf, department managers, staff, and Community Association Board Members. The superintendent must be able to run golf maintenance operations in an effective and efficient manner.
Compensation range is $70,000–$78,000.
Up to 120 hours of paid time off (PTO).
Reimbursement for continuing education.
Company vehicle for use during normal business operations.
