The Country Club of Jackson is a 27 hole, private facility located in Jackson, MS. Founded in 1914, the Country Club of Jackson remains a household name in the state of Mississippi, with well over 1,100 members. We host the PGA TOUR Event, Sanderson Farms Championship, annually and host many high level amateur and junior events. In 2009, the golf course took on a full renovation with golf course architect, John Fought, in which the greens were converted from Bentgrass to Champion Bermudagrass. The greens are touted as "some of/if not the best greens on Tour" by many PGA Tour players. The rest of the golf course is predominately covered in 419 Bermudagrass with the exception of some shaded areas/tees that are a mix of Zeon Zoysia and Meyer Zoysia, along with Tall Fescue native areas. The Country Club of Jackson also has an award winning, 15,000 square feet croquet court that is covered in Tif Eagle Bermudagrass. Aside from the golf course, the Country Club of Jackson has a 40,000 square feet clubhouse that includes 4 restaurants and coffee shop. The club has an Olympic style pool, golf pro shop, walking trails, fitness facility, 12 tennis courts and 4 pickle ball courts.
We are currently searching for an Assistant Superintendent that could begin work immediately. Salary will be commensurate with experience but will be to the national standard. Our staff consists of 22 full time crew members, Head mechanic, Asst. Mechanic, 3 Asst. Superintendents and Head Superintendent, Stanley Reedy. We have 25,000 sq ft of maintenance facilities that were renovated in 2016. Our equipment is predominately Toro.
The candidate we are seeking will be relied on to train and motivate our crew members to continue the standard of upkeep that the Country Club of Jackson is known for. The candidate will also supervise and help in the daily setup of the golf course.
Other job duties include but are not limited to: Calibration of spraying equipment and fertilizer spreaders, Assisting in repairs to Toro SitePro irrigation system, Supervising daily upkeep of equipment with our mechanics, Supervising or Applying pesticides or fertilizer via spray or spreader, Management of all agronomic aspects of the 300 acre facility

Job applicants are required to have at least 2 year's experience. A two or four year degree in related field is highly preferred but not required. Experience with fertilizer/pesticide application as well as irrigation is a plus. Candidates should be motivated, hard-working, and willing to put in the time and effort it takes to help maintain the golf course and clubhouse grounds to the highest standards. Will also be required to obtain a Mississippi Pesticide License.
