Shadow Wood is a 54 hole private country club located in Estero, Florida. The Mechanic Tech I, is a full time Hourly position for our 36 hole location in Estero. They will report to the Equipment manager and golf course superintendents. The candidate must have a strong work ethic, be organized and an efficient time manager. The candidate must be able to keep the shop neat, clean, and be able to communicate with the lead mechanic and equipment manager daily as needed. The candidate will be required to keep a safe work area and organized parts room.
Shadow Wood Country Club includes three championship courses designated as Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuaries. The North and South Courses at Shadow Wood were both designed by award-winning course architect Bob Cupp and renovated by Rees Jones. The Preserve Course, located just 5 miles north at Shadow Wood Preserve was designed by World renowned Arthur Hill.
POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Repair, maintain, and follow preventative maintenance procedures for all golf course equipment and small gas powered hand tools.
Will gain experience in the repair and maintenance of golf course specific equipment and small gas powered hand tools. Will develop technical skills to ensure accurate repairs and preventive maintenance programs.
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Mechanical experience helpful, but not required.
Requires lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds.
Requires flexible work schedule. Will work weekends and holidays. May be required to work odd hours under emergency situations.
The nature of this position is physical, and requires long periods of time walking, standing or stooping. This position works in an outside environment and all associated weather conditions.
Must be in compliance with and support Drug Free Workplace Policy.
This position requires a basic set of employee owned tools.

Typical functions include:
General equipment repair.
Preventative maintenance program, including but not limited to: changing oil, filters, tires, etc.
Daily equipment inspection for safety, cleanliness, quality of cut and height of cut.
Will uphold all maintenance schedules related to reel grinding, preventive maintenance and record keeping.
NATURE OF POSITION:
Reports directly to the Equipment Manager, and will take direction / instruction from Golf Course Superintendent / Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and Lead Mechanic.
Coordinate internally with Golf Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Lead Mechanic, and Mechanic II.
Requires development of skills associated with the care and maintenance of industry specific equipment.
Demonstrate responsibility for the care and upkeep of all specialty pieces of equipment and tools used to perform maintenance procedures.
Exhibit and demonstrate the quality standards associated with the company and department.
