Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, supervises and participates in the maintenance of all trees on the golf courses.
Initiates and implements daily and weekly work plans for the tree care crew.
Ensures that all landscaped areas meet quality standards set forth, to include trees, flowers, shrubs and their respective beds.
Makes daily inspections to ensure that the landscaped areas are maintained properly.
Operates bucket truck and polecat.
Determines need, and schedules and applies, or supervises application of fertilizers and pesticides.
Manages the proper use, storage, and preservation of all associated materials, supplies, and assigned equipment.
Trains, assigns work, supervises, assists with supervising line employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning and directing work, addressing and resolving issues.
Communicates with members, co-workers, management, and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Polo Club.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent.
Requires proficiency in the use of all landscape equipment.
Requires extensive knowledge of Florida trees, plants and flowers.
Requires extensive knowledge of Florida plant diseases and harmful insects.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in the heat for extended periods.
Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers and members.
Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
Previous club experience preferred.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of one to two years of related experience and/or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
Valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record.
