Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team. OKCGCC is a private, member-owned facility founded in 1911. The 18 hole golf course was designed by Perry Maxwell & Alister Mackenzie. The club is nationally recognized as a Platinum Club of America (Top 150 Country Clubs) and a Distinguished Emerald Club of the World.
The club has just recently completed an extensive renovation/restoration project in 2019 lead by golf architect Tripp Davis. The turfgrass varieties include: 007 bentgrass greens, Latitude 36 bermudagrass tees and fairways, and Astro bermuda roughs. All infrastructure has been updated to the latest technology including: Toro irrigation system, precision air on greens, bunkers, and all new drainage. The club continues to work with Tripp Davis on improvements to the golf course for the future.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to excel in the industry. Candidates will be involved all aspects of the operation to learn turf management in the transition zone. Looking for a detail oriented individual that is willing to take full ownership of their assigned responsibilities with the ability to coordinate assignments and provide input to the Superintendent. The pay will be very competitive and well above industry standards for the right candidate.
Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in supervision, management, and maintenance of all golf course operations
Supervision, training, and management of staff
Monitors and maintains all drainage, irrigation, and repairs
Responsible for proper application of all pesticides and fertilizer applications to golf course
Assist in maintaining proper record keeping for pesticide application and irrigation components
Maintains course in proper playing condition and can handle all aspects of maintenance, no matter what it takes
Monitors internal cost control procedures and inventory control
Monitors safety conditions and employees’ conformance with safety procedures. Assures that effective training for these programs is conducted
Two or Four year Turfgrass management degree or degree in a related field of study
Prefer a minimum of two-year’s experience in similar position
Experience at a high-end facility is a plus
Current Oklahoma pesticide applicator license or ability to attain one in ninety days
