The Links at Overton Head Superintendent position is responsible for all turf care operations for the newly renovated 9-hole golf course. This position is a full time City of Memphis Golf Foreman position. The Links at Overton was originally opened in 1906, but is currently being completely renovated by the nationally renowned King Collins Golf company. The head superintendent will work closely with the King Collins team during the completion of the shaping and for all of the grow in of the course. The superintendent will be responsible for building an turf care staff from scratch. This position will report to the Facility Manager and work closely with the Golf Administrator and Overton Park Conservancy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or GED and six (6) years ground maintenance experience to include three (3) years in maintenance of golf courses, with one (1) of the six (6) years in a supervisory/lead capacity; or any combination of training and experience which enables one to perform the essential job functions. A 4 year Agronomy Degree is preferred and can be substituted for experience. Must possess a Tennessee pesticide and herbicide applicator certification, or ability to obtain certification before the end of 12 months of employment. May be required to complete a job-related assessment as determined by Human Resources. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License as a condition of continued employment
